Kathryn Jackson - Director
Kathryn, known as Kat, grew up in Deer Lodge with the unique perspective of a military family background. A 2020 graduate of Powell County High School, she earned her EMT license shortly after graduation and has since explored several roles before finding her place with the Powell County Literacy Program. Kat is excited to support the program’s mission of empowering learners of all ages while continuing to grow personally and professionally.
Community involvement has always been central in Kat’s life. She has assisted the PCHS eSports team (2023–2025), serves as secretary for the Deer Lodge Youth Board, and volunteers with React Events. Her own experiences with accessibility have also shaped her commitment to creating inclusive spaces, from ensuring content is accessible to advocating for individual-based approaches.
Kat is dedicated to lifelong learning, completing trainings through edX, End Overdose, Project Semicolon, and QPR, while always seeking out new knowledge from those around her. Outside of work, she enjoys paddleboarding, hiking with her dogs, exploring the open road, or simply relaxing with a book or video game—often sporting a new hair color.
She warmly welcomes learners of all ages to come on down to the Powell County Literacy Program, say hello, and discover the educational opportunities available.
